Who can use Inagene tests?

Inagene is designed for anyone who is interested in understanding which drugs are likely to work best for them based on their DNA. Even for those who currently do not take any medication, pharmacogenetics testing may be helpful as a proactive measure by finding out which medications would work best for you based on your genetics.

Can I buy this kit for someone else (e.g. a parent or child)?

Yes. If you are a parent or guardian buying the kit on behalf of your child, you will need to set up the account under your name. You can also purchase a kit for another adult. However, they will need a computer or mobile device with internet access to register their kit and view their report. Once registered, it is possible to print and electronically share the report.

Which diseases/conditions does the test cover?

Your Inagene Report doesn’t provide disease risk information, but rather describes your unique predicted response to medications commonly used to treat a variety of pain and mental health conditions, and other conditions (e.g. Anesthesia, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Immunology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Oncology, Respirology and Urology).

My medication is missing. Why is it not there?

Inagene offers one of the most comprehensive pharmacogenetic tests for pain, mental health, and other conditions (e.g., cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology). If a medication isn’t on our list, it’s because no clinically relevant genetic variants have been identified yet.
