We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Testing Personnel team member to support our molecular laboratory during a paternal leave coverage period. This role is well suited to someone with strong molecular laboratory skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in clinical testing, pharmacogenetics, and population genetics.

The successful candidate will support high-complexity molecular testing workflows, specimen processing, quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and report preparation. The role requires strong organizational skills, comfort working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, and a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-complexity molecular laboratory testing
  • Receive, sort, and process specimens
  • Prepare, handle, and dispense reagents, media, and solutions
  • Perform quality control and monitor quality indicators
  • Prepare written and electronic documentation, including test result records and patient reports
  • Operate, troubleshoot, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas
  • Maintain inventory and assist with equipment maintenance
  • Document, investigate, and report discrepancies or errors, and take appropriate corrective action
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of procedures, protocols, and performance standards
  • Participate in quality control, quality improvement, teaching, and educational activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related field required
  • Master’s doctoral degree in a laboratory-related science preferred
  • Previous experience in a molecular laboratory strongly preferred
  • Experience with clinical laboratory workflows, quality systems, or regulated testing environments is an asset
  • Experience with Agena MassARRAY is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with population genetics, pharmacogenetics, or genetic variant interpretation is an asset
